August Crop

Hi all,

We had a GREAT time scrapbooking all day in July. The day went so quickly. We were all astounded when it was actually time to go home. It just didn't seem like 12 hours was ENOUGH. We could have gone longer!

The next scrapnight is PENDING on the church calendar. I have the date set for August 28th, 5pm - 11pm.

By that time school will be back in for everyone, vacations will be over for most of us and it will be TIME to get those pictures scrapbooked. Of course, most of you know that you don't have to scrapbook to join us. Just bring a snack to share and possibly a friend!

Scrap Retreat Pics and November Crop

Here are a few snapshots of our October Retreat. We had a great time, as usual. Starting a day early (on Thursday) was a big hit!
Even though we had such a wonderful weekend together, it feels like forever since we've seen each other. As you are gearing up for Thanksgiving and dare I say it, Christmas! I hope you will carve out some time for our November crop. We will meet November 21st from 5-11 at the church. What a great time to work on those teacher gifts and other holiday projects. So mark your calendar and plan to stay a while or just drop in to catch up and eat some great snacks. It won't be the same if you aren't there. :)

I hope to see you on the 21st!

Greetings My Fellow Retreaters!

The countdown is on. October will be here before we know it. I hope you are as excited as I am. For those that didn't go last year, it takes around an hour and fifteen minutes to get to Camp Fellowship. It is right outside of Clinton , SC and the directions are very easy. The building we will be in has the rooms located on each corner and a large common area where the tables will be set up.

You will be able to roll out of bed and take our PJ clad self straight to your table. J The rooms have two twin beds and a bathroom. They provide a pillow, sheets, and towels. If you are picky about your sheets or towels you may want to bring your own. The ones provided are a little on the thin side. It has a small kitchen area with a coffee maker, full size refrigerator, toaster oven and microwave. The lighting is adequate but a little dim. You may want to bring a desk lamp for your table. There are plenty of outlets but we will need a couple of extension cords. The dining hall is just a short walk away. (Sorry ladies but we will have dress to go to the dining hall.) There is also a lake and a walking trail.

For those arriving on Thursday, check in time is 4:00pm. I will e-mail you separately to discuss if we want to do a group dinner. For those of you checking in on Friday we will see you when you get there.:) Remember lunch and dinner for Friday and Saturday are included in the cost. However, we are not allowed to remove food from the cafeteria, so if you aren't there at 12:00pm or 6:00pm you forfeit your meal. If you have special dietary requirements, please let me know so that I can pass them on to the cook. Check out is at 11:00 am on Sunday.

The rooms are based on double occupancy. Please e-mail me if you already have a room mate, even if you have told me already.:) And each person will have 3 feet of table space. There is no smoking inside the facility. A can will be placed by the front door for those of you that smoke.

Below is a list of items you may want to bring. Also, this is in the middle of no where. There is a Wal-Mart and I believe someone last year found a scrapbook store but whether it is still open in this economy, I do not know.

Breakfast food – lunch and dinner will be provided. Breakfast is not. If you bring cereal don't forget a bowl and spoon. There are no dishes.
Snack items and drinks (They do not allow alcoholic beverages on the premises)
Cup with a lid - no open containers at the tables
Desk lamp
Seat cushion
Extra bed pillow/towel
Extra adhesive and paper
Flashlight
Umbrella
Favorite cd - can someone bring their cd player? Let me know.
Socks or slippers
Light jacket
Extension Cord
Photos
Plenty of adhesive

If you have any new items that you bought and then decided you didn’t need, and you would like to donate for a prize that would be great. We will have a prize area set up.

All balances are due September 15th. If you need your balance let me know. If you want to give them to me at the September crop that will be fine or you can mail them to me. Let me know if you need the address. I will be sending out more info closer to the date. If you have questions or think of something that I left off, please let me know.

Pictures of the facility are posted at this link. I'm praying for a relaxing and rewarding weekend for all of us. Have a great weekend!

Thanks, Lydia

Another School Year Begins

Hello Everyone! I trust that those of you with school age children have started the school year off with a bang. We had a great time last Saturday but missed those of you that were unable to make it. We were so happy to meet Linda and hope that she will join us again next month.
If you don't scrap, you can bring any craft/project with you and just enjoy the fellowship. Alyssa brought her art, 6 of us brought computer's for digi-scrapping, Sam and Brandy paint, and Tami even brought tot trade stuff to prepare! Just bring whatever you're working on and have fun with us!

Next month's crop will be Sept 19th and I hope to see you there. Have a great weekend!
