Scrap Retreat Pics and November Crop

Here are a few snapshots of our October Retreat. We had a great time, as usual. Starting a day early (on Thursday) was a big hit!
Even though we had such a wonderful weekend together, it feels like forever since we've seen each other. As you are gearing up for Thanksgiving and dare I say it, Christmas! I hope you will carve out some time for our November crop. We will meet November 21st from 5-11 at the church. What a great time to work on those teacher gifts and other holiday projects. So mark your calendar and plan to stay a while or just drop in to catch up and eat some great snacks. It won't be the same if you aren't there. :)

I hope to see you on the 21st!

Greetings My Fellow Retreaters!

The countdown is on. October will be here before we know it. I hope you are as excited as I am. For those that didn't go last year, it takes around an hour and fifteen minutes to get to Camp Fellowship. It is right outside of Clinton , SC and the directions are very easy. The building we will be in has the rooms located on each corner and a large common area where the tables will be set up.

You will be able to roll out of bed and take our PJ clad self straight to your table. J The rooms have two twin beds and a bathroom. They provide a pillow, sheets, and towels. If you are picky about your sheets or towels you may want to bring your own. The ones provided are a little on the thin side. It has a small kitchen area with a coffee maker, full size refrigerator, toaster oven and microwave. The lighting is adequate but a little dim. You may want to bring a desk lamp for your table. There are plenty of outlets but we will need a couple of extension cords. The dining hall is just a short walk away. (Sorry ladies but we will have dress to go to the dining hall.) There is also a lake and a walking trail.

For those arriving on Thursday, check in time is 4:00pm. I will e-mail you separately to discuss if we want to do a group dinner. For those of you checking in on Friday we will see you when you get there.:) Remember lunch and dinner for Friday and Saturday are included in the cost. However, we are not allowed to remove food from the cafeteria, so if you aren't there at 12:00pm or 6:00pm you forfeit your meal. If you have special dietary requirements, please let me know so that I can pass them on to the cook. Check out is at 11:00 am on Sunday.

The rooms are based on double occupancy. Please e-mail me if you already have a room mate, even if you have told me already.:) And each person will have 3 feet of table space. There is no smoking inside the facility. A can will be placed by the front door for those of you that smoke.

Below is a list of items you may want to bring. Also, this is in the middle of no where. There is a Wal-Mart and I believe someone last year found a scrapbook store but whether it is still open in this economy, I do not know.

Breakfast food – lunch and dinner will be provided. Breakfast is not. If you bring cereal don't forget a bowl and spoon. There are no dishes.
Snack items and drinks (They do not allow alcoholic beverages on the premises)
Cup with a lid - no open containers at the tables
Desk lamp
Seat cushion
Extra bed pillow/towel
Extra adhesive and paper
Flashlight
Umbrella
Favorite cd - can someone bring their cd player? Let me know.
Socks or slippers
Light jacket
Extension Cord
Photos
Plenty of adhesive

If you have any new items that you bought and then decided you didn’t need, and you would like to donate for a prize that would be great. We will have a prize area set up.

All balances are due September 15th. If you need your balance let me know. If you want to give them to me at the September crop that will be fine or you can mail them to me. Let me know if you need the address. I will be sending out more info closer to the date. If you have questions or think of something that I left off, please let me know.

Pictures of the facility are posted at this link. I'm praying for a relaxing and rewarding weekend for all of us. Have a great weekend!

Thanks, Lydia

August Update

We were so glad to have Kim, Tracey, Melinda and Deborah join us at the last crop! We missed those of you unable to come and hope you can make it this month. Mark your calendar for August 15th, our next crop. I'll send out a reminder the week before.

As for the retreat, we have three spots left. If you have friends or family that are interested in going let me know. Also, if you haven't mailed in your second deposit, please do so.

A couple of items of business: For those coming in on Thursday dinner will not be provided. We can pick up pizza as a group or everyone can just brown bag whatever they want. I will contact those of you arriving on Thursday closer to the date and we can decide what we want to do, so be thinking about it.

For those arriving on Friday you are welcome to arrive any time on Friday but remember that lunch is served promptly at 12:00 and dinner is served promptly at 6:00. We are not allowed to remove food from the dining hall so if you miss the meal, well, you miss the meal. If you have dining restriction let me know so that I can relay them. For those of you from last year I will be requesting no lasagna this year or at least a much milder version. ;)

Also, everyone is responsible for any breakfast that they want as well as snacks and drinks. We do not have a stove but we do have a full size frig.

If you have any new or gently used scrapbook items that you would like to donate for prizes, plan to bring those along for the prize table.

Be on the lookout for additional e-mails closer to the date. Have a great week!

Retreat Time!

We missed those of you unable to come on Saturday and hope you will be able to join us next month. It was great to have Kristie, Michelle and Joy's daughter Kelly join us for the first time. We enjoyed meeting them.

Next month we will meet on June 20th so mark your calendar and we hope to see you then.

Also, we are planning our retreat for the Fall. The dates are October 1-4. We will be checking in on Thursday at 4:00 this year. This will allow for a partial day on Thursday, full day Friday, full day Saturday and we will pack up Sunday and leave(no lunch). We will have to vacate by 11:00 on Sunday as they have another group arriving that night.

Unfortunately, they have gone up on their room rates. The cost breakdown is as follows: $158 for Thurs - Sun. and $116 for Friday - Sunday. These amounts will include lunch and dinner for Friday and Saturday and 3 feet of table space.

The payments are broken up into 3 payments again and are as follows:

opt. 1 Thurs - Sun: May 31-$52.66, July 15 - $52.67, Sept 15-$52.67
opt. 2 Fri - Sun: May 31-$38.66, July 15 -$38.67, Sept 15-$38.67

Same as last year, a deposit will reserve your spot. If my rambling doesn't make sense let me know and I will try to clear it up.:) We have five spots available.(those that attended last year were given first option at going again this year) So, let me know as soon as possible. The location is Camp Fellowship about 1 1/2 hours away, right outside of Clinton. You can find pictures on the blog from last year.

Have a great week.

We're Back!

Hello, Happy Easter!

It was great to see those of you that were on the Women's Retreat. If you weren't able to make it this year I hope you can come next year. It was an awesome time, complete with a project runway style fashion show, an amazing race scavenger hunt and the resounding theme that God loves us regardless of the mistakes we've made - "we are holy in his sight". Stacy Keller has picts on her face book page for those interested.

Everyone should have plenty of Spring Break and Easter photos to work with this Saturday. No, photos, no worries, you can paint, knit, make cards, craft or just take time to sit and talk. So grab your mother, sister, neighbor, friend or grocery store check out lady, bring a snack to share, and join us for our April scrap night from 5:00 - 11:00.

If you plan to attend the crop this Saturday (18th), please respond to this post so that enough tables are set up.

See you Saturday!

February Crop

We had a great time on the 17th! We missed those of you on vacation or otherwise MIA and hope to see you on February 21st.
Don't forget to sign up for the East Lake Women's retreat scheduled in March. The retreat is a good way to have a great time, meet lots of new people, and grow closer to God.
Remember to pray for Brandy. She has surgery scheduled for February. I will send out an e-mail closer to the date for anyone that would like to provide a meal for Brandy and her family during her recovery period.
See you on February 21st!
